How to obtain eBook Resale Rights Inexpensively
The Internet makes it possible to build a digital business that will work for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and even make money while you sleep.
Here’s how to obtain EBook resale rights inexpensively, so you can be a digital entrepreneur with minimal up-front costs.
Determine what, in addition to money, you hope to gain from reselling EBooks. Are you building your name as a trustworthy source for information? Do you have a specific audience that you want to attract?
Determine the dollar amount you can afford to spend on EBook resale rights.
Decide what type of Ebook resale rights you want to pursue.
Standard resale rights (also called "normal resale rights" or "resell rights") allow you to turn around and resell the EBooks you buy, much like you can be an affiliate to promote a product and get a cut of the sales. You can only sell the right for someone else to use the product, not to resell it themselves, and you cannot change the product in any way.
Master Resale Rights grant the ability to sell the right to resell EBook resale rights. Again, you cannot change the EBooks nor can you sell the right to do so.
PLR (Private Label Rights) to EBooks can give you the right to edit the work and even claim it as your own, depending on the details of the specific rights granted to you in the license. Buying unrestricted PLR grants you all rights to the work, while restricted PLR has limitations on what you can do with the Ebook.
Decide if you want rebranding rights, which allow you to replace all the author's links to their website with your own links. Note that this is a separate right from the resale rights.
Create a list of the topics you're interested in reselling. Are you interested in EBooks on gardening, blogging, or some other topic?
Use your search engine of choice to search for the rights you want to buy in quotation marks, and a topic that you want the Ebooks to be about.
Keep notes of the EBooks you find in your search, where you found them, what rights are for sale, and how much those rights would cost.
Repeat the previous two steps for all the topics you're interested in selling online.
Compare the costs for the titles you're interested in reselling to determine which ones will cost least.
Select the title or titles that fit within your budget.
Note the EBook packs. Buying the resell rights to a pack of EBooks can be a better deal, when you divide the cost by the number of EBooks received, making it one of the easiest methods of inexpensively obtaining EBook resale rights.
When you find a resale right vendor you like, see if it offers any free titles. You might be able to get your business started without investing in the EBook.
